Mystery on Sea provides an exclusive walking tour of the historic Clifftown and Royal Terrace areas of Southend on Sea.
The tour, which began running in June 2019, was originally designed, written and led by Adrian Fox and Tracy Wise, two locally based and experienced performers and storytellers with extensive knowledge of the local area. Magician Richard Graham Joined the team in 2024. The walk lasts for around 2 hours and includes some fascinating information about the history of the town, its buildings and landmarks; and about some of the famous people who have visited over the years. Woven in are tales of ghosts, legends and unexplained mysteries, and the walk is made even more entertaining with the inclusion of magic and a lot of fun.
Coming soon is a second fascinating tour, this time investigating the historic Shoeburyness Garrison site with its rich history dating back hundreds of years and more. Dates for this new tour, packed full of stories and surprises, will be available soon.
The tours are suitable for those aged 10 years and over and are both wheelchair friendly. Dogs are welcome - in fact they can sometimes sense the presence of our ghostly guests! To allow the best experience for everyone, the group size is kept to a maximum of twenty people.
